Shakespeare & Salads
Good morning! Two things on my mind this morning are:
Shakespeare in the Park!
Last night Lorne and I took a picnic supper to Prince's Island Park where we caught an alfresco performance of The Two Gentleman of Verona. It was excellent, with strong, high-energy performances... all done in 1950s style! The comedy was littered with 1950s and 60s costumes, musical interludes, and even a "Jets"- like ganster group, complete with finger-snapping!
Salads!
After gorging on rich, delicious foods while on holiday in the Maritimes, I decided it was time to reel in the eating a little, and was inspired to make my first "gourmet" salad last week! I made a Berry Spinach salad, with baby spinach, red onion, sliced blanched almonds, raspberries, blueberries, and a dijon dressing. It got Two Thumbs Up! I followed the Berry Spinach Salad with an Teriyaki Chicken Salad for our picnic last night, and we finally got to use the picnic backpack we found at a garage sale earlier this year. Very Fun.

Aha! Perhaps it was this posting that inspired Michael to put blueberries in our salad last night. I was initially horrified, but admit that it turned out to be quite delicious. :)
