My Bear Has a Name!
Thank-you soooo much to everyone who submitted a suggestion for my "Name That Bear" contest. It was so fun to have your participation and fantastic name ideas!! The contest stayed open so long because there were so many super names, I just couldn't pick. Finally, one night last week it all came together and finally made sense.
So, thanks to you, my adorable teddy bear is now "The Bear Formerly Known As Cleighton." Yep, Cleighton was his real name. It just didn't fit for me... but I kept with the "C" theme...

Congratulations to Anne from Kinburn!! She suggested the name Chinook!!!! Which is exactly perfect for a few reasons:
1) It's just a great name!
2) I am about to experience my first of many Calgary winters... and am looking forward to any chinooks that might come my way.
3) Lorne actually bought the bear at a mall called The Chinook Centre!
A million thanks to everyone else. You suggested fabulous names that I will actually use to name all my Slider bears... who until now were all called Slider. Yep, all of them! So now they can have fun, ingenious, appropriate, and unique names!
Thanks everyone! Merci! Gracias! Quiitos!
I will try to post a picture of Chinook himself (rather than the above standard mugshot) this weekend sometime. Have a SUPER weekend!

Apparently "shortly" these days takes exactly 3 days and one hour!
I originally posted my "Stay Tuned" post on Tuesday at 10:56pm. I edited the post to announce the contest winner tonight, Friday at 11:56, even though it still has Tuesday evening as the datestamp.

Did you know we almost named our cat Chinook? It rhymed with Nanuq and seemed appropriate because of, as my sister pointed, the "warm winds" that would emanate from him after stealing dog food...
