I did it! I did it! 16km Run - Postpost

Yayyyyyy! I am quite sore now, after the run, but I did it! I ran in the 2hr target group (the 2hrs is our goal time for race day, actually running the half-marathon) with Mark. Luckily he was getting over a cold and as you know I am trying to hold one off so we were the "in-denial of being sick" group. Can you imagine running 16km with a sore throat and snifflies? I couldn't, but am so glad I did anyways, because I feel like a Million Bucks now! I felt great right after, I definitely had the "runner's high". Except I was as hungry as a wolf when I finished - positively ravenous!

16.02 km @ 6.58 minutes per km = 1 hour 51 minutes. This includes walking breaks every 10 minutes - known as running an LSD 10 & 1's run. A long slow distance run with intervals of 10 minutes of running followed by one minute of walking! It's a great way to cover large distances safely.

It was wet, cold, windy and rainy. Ok, it was freezing. Luckily we were sheltered along the river pathway most of the time. Weather conditions as of 11am when I finished my run:

11:00 Light Rain 7C 77 3 Winds NNE 22 101.3 24

For those of you who don't use weatheroffice.gc.ca as often as I do, the highlights are:
7 Degrees Celcius, Light Rain, and Winds of NNE 22 km/hr.
The winds felt so strong! I already had my body repair mode nap earlier this afternoon... so it's time for a hot shower. Then Resumes! There are 2 majorly important postings due tonight, and 1 B-list job to apply for as well if I have time! Have a GREAT week friends!
