Fun with Resumes!
Just a quick note to let you all know that I have FINALLY updated my resume and turned it into a "combination" resume... both chronological and functional, with a HUMAN RESOURCES PROFILE at the top to catch eyes and make those recruiters keep on reading even though I don't fit the exact mold they are looking for!
This is a ***HUGE*** triumph seeing as though I've been putting it off and procrastinating the major edit session since... oh... almost a year now?? I had been more fervently putting it off since April. I don't know why it was so difficult for me to do - perhaps because I had emotional attachment to the content? Maybe because I wanted to do it perfectly or not at all? Or even because I wasn't yet ready to work when I had just moved here in the Spring!!
Either way, I had of course updated my resume in little bits, and sent it out to various jobs over the last few months, but I hadn't done the overhaul and HR refocusing it needed. But now I have! Version one anyway. I guess my resume is going to be a living document, perpetually updated for each and every posting I apply to, and I'm ok with that now. Speaking of postings, there are FINALLY postings coming out that I am both excited about and qualified for! Recruiters, HR Advisors, Recruiting Assistants, and more! WOO HOO! Perfect timing for me this fall!
I owe a HEARTFELT thank-you to Lorne, who helped me through the process this weekend. He was there to hold my hand through the entire process, hug me and encourage me through the tough parts, and really make it happen when it came down to the wire. I love you baby!

No wonder it took you all weekend! It's hard to type with one hand! (Let alone "making it happen" when it "came down to the wire"! :P :)
Congratulations!

Hey, re-vamping a resume is HARD WORK! I know, because I did it too, a few years ago. And I think it's about due for another one now... gulp! Anyway, congratulations, and good luck on the job hunt. :)
