Jam-a-oke SuperStar!
Last night, I took Lorne to my Corporate Challenge Wrap-Up party. It's the CCC's way of thanking their volunteers with great food, awards, door prizes, and entertainment! We even won some movie passes, tickets to a football game, and a CCC bag!
The entertainment consisted of a Live Band with a Karaoke set-up, meaning you could choose a song, and the band would back you up on it live! The band calls this "Jam-a-oke." So of course, guess who went up to sing!!! I did Katrina and the Waves' Walking on Sunshine, and don't it feel good! It did feel good. They key they chose, G, was a little low for me, but we still had a great time anyways. I dragged 2 cute friends up on stage with me to be my back-up dancers and we just had a blast. Super super fun.
It was exhilarating to be up on stage with a microphone, and it felt great to be singing again. I miss my Orpheus Choral Group! I haven't found anything in Calgary yet, although Jam-a-oke might just be a great way to get some singing out of my system periodically!
Do you have any good ideas for Karaoke song choices? If so, feel free to leave them for me as a comment! Thanks!

Personally, I enjoy "take me or leave me" or "out tonight" from RENT. If you aren't into doing show tunes (which I know Lara IS!)..."I touch myself" by the Divinyls is always a fun one! Lar...I have a whole repertoire of songs. I have 2 (different) regular karaoke crews! So much fun! I will have to take you the next time you are in Toronto! Love, Dahl
