Naughty Thoughts about NZ & Christmas

The other day, Lorne admitted that he had been missing New Zealand lately. The same thought had crossed my mind a few times as well!

We spent last Christmas there for 3 weeks, visiting my brother Barry who was living and working there at the time, his partner Renee, and her FABULOUS family. We had such a magical adventure there, and were treated like gold by our hosts! New Zealand is beautiful and enchanting in every way. I am so glad that Renee is a part of our family now, and will keep our connection with NZ alive!

This Christmas, Renee's gang (parents and siblings!) is coming to Canada for a few weeks to have a white Christmas with us! It's very exciting that we can host them and repay the favour, since they did such a stellar job of having the six of us as guests last year. Lorne and I don't have our exact plans hammered out yet, but they probably involve some time in New Brunswick, Ottawa, and Mont Tremblant to visit with our ski-loving Kiwi guests.

Lorne had a hilarious idea the other day, as he was missing New Zealand... what if Renee's family were to offer us the use of their house while they were here in Canada? And we could go to Auckland again this Christmas and do it all again?? Of course, that would annihilate the whole purpose of their visit, and the chance to see her family again. Which is actually better than going to NZ without them, because they are just that great. But still, it was a fun "naughty" thought to contemplate... Christmas on the beach, climbing volcanoes, spending the day in the pool... eating lots of fresh seafood...
