My Five Fall Priorities

I hope all my loved ones had a wonderful long weekend! I had a fantastic time visiting Geoff, Colleen, Ethan and Matthew (and Sheba the dog) in Rocky Mountain House. They live in the country, and it felt just like going home to New Brunswick to visit! A beautiful property, hearty & delicious country meals, animals all around, quads and dirt bikes to ride, adorable "nephews" to play with (second cousins but they feel like nephews), and of course time with family!! It was a wonderful retreat away from the city and into nature.

We also had the pleasure of attending a fun Thanksgiving Ham Supper & Games Night at my friend Stacey's house on Monday night. Lots of family recipes, tons of food, and some crazy Uno card games!

Now, I am back to focusing on my 5 main priorities for Fall 2006. I set them at the beginning of September to give me focus, and these items are keeping me busier than I could ever have imagined!! I haven't been this busy since I was working 80-hour weeks toward Accenture project deadlines!

* Finding a great career job in Recruiting
* Running - training for my half marathon on November 12th at least 3-4 times a week
* Happy home life and quality time with Lorne
* Sleeping enough; early to bed, early to rise
* Eating healthy food

Keeping focused on these priorities of course means sacrifices in other areas, namely social time with friends, phone time, personal email time, other correspondence, sports and more. However, these sacrifices are short term pain for long term gain! Once I start working, I know my life will balance itself out again.

So, for anyone who hasn't heard from me lately, please know that I am thinking of you and care about you very much, and am cutting out most social time in the short term to focus on my job search and striking while the market is hot! Keep checking my blog every few days because this is the easiest way I can think of to keep people updated in a time efficient manner.
