The Most Beautiful Run
I just discovered a FANTASTIC 6km running route... wow. Leaving from Eau Claire, it winds up along and across this ridge just north of the Bow River and Downtown, allowing inspiring views of the downtown skyline. At the right time of day, just before the sun goes down, downtown is set aglow by the fading sunlight, and after the sun has disappeared, the lights start twinkling and the effect is entirely different, but just as beautiful.
A bonus on the run is that the neighbourhood on top of the ridge, Crescent Heights, has gorgeous mansions to run past and take in.
I did this run yesterday, on a +10C day, when it was so hot I wished I was wearing shorts and a tank top - in February! The sun was pounding down on me. I also did this run with 3 friends on Friday, a -9C day with snow lightly falling the whole time, and us running in about 8cm of snow. Just as beautiful either time.
